English-theatre "Virtual Heroes " by Cive Duncan at our school MKM Stift Zwettl
On October 25th, 2013 four young actors from Vienna English Theatre schooltours performed a very funny play about cyber world.
In the break the actors went into some classrooms and talked to a lot of our kids. So they created a funny and friendly atmosphere. One of the actors was very handsome therefore some girls from our school couldn´t stop taking photos after the play and enjoyed talking and chatting with him. Some were absolutely crazy about him and immediately fell in love with him. :)
The plot: " Virtual Heroes" is partly set in a virtual game world. As you follow the two main characters, Rita and Kevin - or rather Sapphire and Byron, through their adventures in Egypt and Peru, you´ll think you´re sitting at your PC/playstation. Rita is good at school, Kevin is not. Rita doesn´t have friends and is being bullied, Kevin misses his dad. Both are looking for adventure, creating a virtual reality for themselves, taking on the personalities they would like to be - in their dreams.
The play is a warning about using virtual world to help yourself by solving problems. Emails and chatrooms are the main ways of communication - but because everybody uses nicknames, you never know who you are really "talking" /writing to.
